will cherry
will cherry aka William Lampley is a rapper, singer, and producer from Cleveland, OH. Since before he was born, music has played an integral role in will’s life. His parents met at a gospel radio station with his mother being a radio personality and his father, a singer. After he was born, his parents were sure to always surround him with soulful music. At age 12, will cherry started making beats before eventually deciding to start laying verses and hooks over them. Today, he lists his biggest musical influences as D'Angelo, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean.
Over the course of his musical career, will cherry has worked with many other up-and-coming artists, especially fellow Cleveland artists including Nuke Franklin, Qdajuice, Peachcurls, and more. Though he has been making music for years, will cherry released his first album, Burgundy in 2020. The project sees high points on “Flip,” “TRUST” featuring Freshie, and “MY TYPE” featuring Baby Tate. In 2022, will cherry would release his second album, Ultraviolet, named after his Cleveland concert series, CLUB ULTRAVIOLET. The project includes a variety of sounds, as it is hip-hop at its core, but also merges sounds of R&B, pop, and even dabbles in house music. The project’s most daring track, “Worst of Me” is also its best. Other standouts include “Ice” produced by Sango (which has drawn the attention of Pigeons & Planes), “Brawl,” and “Closer” featuring WesWill and MARIAH MARIAH.
will cherry returned for summer 2023, releasing Anywhere in June 2023, highlighted by “Ibiza” produced by shy!!!, who also recently produced “Questions” by Jack Harlow.
