Cherele
Cherele aka Patrice Cherele Swygert is a rapper from Fort Myers, FL, now residing in Los Angeles, CA as she pursues her career in music. Cherele says that she has always been obsessed with music. At a young age, she played the piano. As she got a bit older, she started to write stories and poems which she turned into raps. She lists some of her biggest inspirations as Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim, and Bow Wow. Upon graduating high school, Cherele attended the University of South Florida to pursue a degree in sociology. After getting into a serious car accident, she decided that she no longer wanted to spend time and money on something that she did not love. She decided to move to Miami to chase her dream before eventually landing in LA.
In 2015, Cherele released her first project, Paradise Lost. She displays her potential on tracks like “My Channel” featuring Father. Four years later, she returned with Give ‘EM Hell, showing growth on songs like “Griselda Blanco.” In 2022, Cherele leveled up, releasing the album, Nostalgia Is Dead. With assistance from producer, Pete Rango, Cherele displays her ability to switch up her flows and make a hard hitter like “Hol’ Up” featuring Michael Aristotle, and also, a more melodic vibe like “Call Me Back” featuring Micah Freeman. “Flick/Bigdawg” is another standout of the project.
Some other noteworthy moments in Cherele’s young career include having 2 songs featured on HBO’s Insecure as well as two performances at the Rolling Loud music festival.
