Wahid is a rapper from Orlando, FL. With his father being a Jamaican deejay/toaster, Wahid was exposed to music at a young age. His interest in music was taken to the next level at the age of 12 when his brother played Nas’ Illmatic for him. This inspired Wahid to start writing his own rhymes, though it would be another 5-6 years before he started to actually record anything. Today, Wahid describes his sound as “a healthy blend of vintage and contemporary. Dense lyricism with an ear for melody.” He lists his biggest influences as God and women, specifically black women.

Wahid dropped his first solo project, Seven in 2019. The project saw highs on the songs “Joshua,” “Garden,” and “Son of Sam.” Around 2019, Wahid started recording as a member of the group, seeyousoon. The group did a nationwide tour, performed at music festivals, and was on the brink of signing to a major record label before splitting up due to creative differences around 2022. Wahid decided it was then time to go back to focusing on his solo career. After a few loosies and features, such as 99 Neighbors’ 2022 “Static,” and Jiles & Vinyl Villain’s 2023 “Beeper Buzz’n” (also with Felix! and maari), Wahid teamed up with producer Kaelin Ellis to release a two-pack, WILT / CORNERSTONE in October 2023. A few months later, Wahid released feast, by ravens - EP in March 2024, highlighted by “Mezcal” with Ayaana and “SOLSTICE.” The 6-track project showcases Wahid’s skills as a lyricist and his keen ability to successfully experiment with a variety of sounds.
