HAAWWS is a rapper from Roxbury, MA, just outside of Boston. With artists like BIA, Cousin Stizz, AzizTheShake, Clark D, kei, $ean Wire, and Jiles and the rest of Van Buren Records, the Boston hip-hop scene has been taking off over the last few years, and HAAWWS belongs in this conversation as well. HAAWWS grew up playing instruments like the piano and the drums, finding a love for music as early as age 6. He started getting into making his own music around 2012, but it wasn’t until 2017 that he started to take it seriously, as he began buying studio equipment and working on his artist development. HAAWS says that he uses conceptual inspirations to drive his music, which “speaks to [his] experience as it relates to life.” Today, he lists his biggest influences as Rihanna, ScHoolboy Q, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Michael Jackson, Prince, J. Cole, Drake, Dr. Dre, and Beyoncé.

HAAWWS released his first EP on all streaming services, This Is My Story in 2021. The project is highlighted by the tracks “Lo-Frequency” and “Laundry Day,” produced by Clark D. In 2022, HAAWWS returned with the album, Nsfw, followed up with the deluxe in 2023. Standout tracks from the project include “Not Finished” and “Great.” Kicking off 2024, he released his next album, NOTFORSALE. The project sees highs on “$ean Wire Interlude” featuring $ean Wire, “Chances Are,” and “SLUMP.” Then, in August, HAAWWS returned with 2 new dance tracks on SEEINGRED. - “RED ALERT” and “DRIFT” featuring CalvinKleinCaterpillar. Be sure to check out his single, “Make Em’ Dance” too when playing through HAAWWS’ discography.
