Mahalia
Mahalia (Burkmar) is a British singer who signed her first deal with a major label at age 13 after drawing attention from artists like Ed Sheeran. She released her debut album, Diary of Me in 2016 at age 18. A year later, she released the single, “Sober” which became a breakout hit, particularly after performing the song on Colors. In 2018, she released her second project, Seasons - EP. The next year, she released Love and Compromise with features from Burna Boy, Terrace Martin, Lucky Daye, Hamzaa, and Ella Mai as well as production from big names like Sounwave and DJ Dahi. The album's standout tracks were “I Wish I Missed My Ex” and “Square 1.”
In 2020, she released Isolation Tapes, 3 tracks highlighted by “Plastic Plants.” Other must-listen Mahalia tracks include “Proud of Me” featuring Little Simz, “Hold On” featuring Buddy, “Do Not Disturb” (Leven Kali Remix), and “All I Need” by Jacob Collier, also featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
