Armani Caesar aka Joclynn Clyburn is the first lady of Griselda, the hottest indie-label in the game based in Buffalo, NY. Though just signed in 2020, Armani’s connection to the label stems back to 2009, when both Benny (then 2 Chain Benny Mane) and Conway (then Jimmy Conway) made appearances on her first mixtape, Bath & Body Work. She met the two rappers when she was 16 at the late, DJ Shay’s studio, Buff City. Following the mixtape, the Buffalo MC released 3 projects between 2011 and 2018; Hand Bag Addict, Caesar’s Palace, and Pretty Girls Get Played Too. She also had a notable feature on Rico Love’s “Bad Attitude” along with Raekwon and produced by DJ Dahi, and had her song, “Can’t Take Him Back” produced by Ma$e.
In 2020, she signed with Griselda and instantly made positive contributions to the team, appearing on Westside Gunn’s “Lil Cease” and Conway the Machine’s “Anza.” She then released her Griselda debut in September 2020, THE LIZ. The project was hyped by the DJ Premier produced single, “Simply Done” featuring Benny The Butcher. Other noteworthy tracks from the project include “Mac 10s For Everybody” featuring Westside Gunn, “Gucci Casket” featuring Conway The Machine, and “Drill a RaMA” featuring Benny The Butcher and 808 Mafia. Armani went on to land 2 features on Westside Gunn’s WHO MADE THE SUNSHINE on “Liz Loves Luger” produced by The Alchemist as well as the Just Blaze produced posse cut, “98 Sabers,” also featuring Benny and Conway.
