Zacari
You've heard him singing hooks on “Wat's Wrong,” “RAW (Backwards),” and “LOVE.” Zacari (Pacaldo) hails from Bakersfield, CA, but moved to Alaska after graduating high school. He plays the guitar and the saxophone and lists influences as John Mayer, Marvin Gaye, and B.B. King. Zacari signed to TDE in 2019 at age 22, after having worked closely with the label for over 3 years prior. He first connected with TDE's Moosa as a saxophone player. Moosa would eventually become Zacari's manager and help him get signed. In addition to his features on Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, and Kendrick Lamar's albums, before signing, Zacari was also featured on Black Panther: The Album, on the songs “Paramedic!” “Redemption Interlude,” and “Redemption.”
In 2019, Zacari released his debut EP, Run Wild, Run Free. The 7-track effort saw high points on “Don't Trip,” “Young & Invincible” featuring Lil Yachty, and “Run Wild, Run Free.” Later the same year, Zacari landed 2 major features; one on the star-studded, “Raised a Fool” by Kembe X, also featuring Ab-Soul and Jay Rock, and the other on “Mood” from labelmate, SiR's album Chasing Summer. In 2020, Zacari released 2 songs as part of TDE Fan Appreciation Week; “Edamame” and “This Woman's Work” featuring Che Ecru.
