Travis Thompson
The protégé of Macklemore, Travis Thompson has a familiar, yet unique sound. The Seattle rapper got his start via Macklemore and Ryan Lewis's Seattle youth program, The Residency which seeks to empower young hip-hop artists. Impressed by Thompson, Macklemore gave him an internship with the company. In 2015, Travis released his first EP, Living for the Future. He followed this with the mixtape, Ambaum in 2016.
In 2017, Travis earned a feature on Macklemore's song, “Corner Store,” which also got him on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In 2018, he dropped the album, YouGood? followed by the EP, Runaways in 2019. Later in 2019, Travis would release his most complete project to date, Reckless Endangerment, featuring Macklemore, ADÉ, A-Trak, Reason, and more. The project is highlighted by the tracks, “Dropped Babies” and “We Good!” He closed the year appearing alongside Kash Doll, Iman Shumpert, IDK, and King Los in a BET Cypher.
