Mack Swans

Mack Swans aka Jamal Livingston is a rapper and producer from New Orleans, LA. Mack first got into music during his high school days. He was a member of his high school’s drumline and one day decided to open up the GarageBand app on his phone. After playing around a bit, he made a beat that inspired him to rap. He recorded what he made and when he showed a friend, his friend loved it, and thus, Mack Swans was born. Mack lists his biggest musical influences as Ab-Soul’s Control System, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor, and Jaden’s CTV2. When asked to describe Mack Swans’ sound, Rachard who works closely with Mack said, “If space-time and reality had a soundtrack, it would be the music of Mack Swans. Birthed from a fascination of the universe and his place in it; Sonically, Mack is an architect of the worlds that exist in his mind.”
Mack Swans’ music typically consists of southern flows meshed with contemporary melodies. Mack released his first project, Swanson in 2020. He followed this up by releasing two projects in 2022, Daydream Guide and SWANTON’s Bomb! The projects were highlighted by the songs “Birds of A Feather,” “MIGRATE” (feat. Sunset Sloan), “Lantern” with Rachard, and “Spellcheck.” In 2023, he kicked the year off with his best song to date, “Mayhem.”
