Tireek
Tireek Cody, known by his stage name, Tireek, is a rapper from Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in the hip-hop mecca of New York City, Tireek was surrounded by hip-hop culture throughout his whole childhood. At a young age, he developed a passion for creating art, drawing, writing, filming, and eventually, making music. Tireek started rapping around the age of 12 and eventually decided to take music seriously around the age of 18. To kick off his music career, Tireek was 1/3 of the group, Room 4. After the group disbanded in 2018, Tireek began to focus on his solo music career. Today, he describes his music as “a unique blend of hip-hop and R&B that is both vulnerable and honest. It examines relationships, personal struggles, and inspiring those going through hard times.” He lists his biggest influences as Kendrick Lamar, OutKast, Lauryn Hill, Frank Ocean, Smino, and J. Cole.
In 2021, Tireek released Crookland, a full-length project in collaboration with Lonely Leonard. The project has a very enticing intro, “Crook’s Theme” (feat. Bailey Willow) that leaves you very curious, but excited for what’s in store for the next 9 tracks. Other high points of Crookland include “Hold On” and “On My Block.” The same year, Tireek released a solo project, 90’s Baby. Must-listens from this project include “Sunny Days,” “Babygirl” (feat. Lonely Leonard), “Fantasy” (feat. Solana), and “Life.” Tireek has opened for artists like D Smoke and Pink Sweat$, and he is currently working on his next project, Nowhere To Run.
