In 2019, Joey Bada$$ announced the launch of his label, Badmind with its first signee, N.A.O Quelly from Brooklyn. Accompanying the announcement was the debut single from the artist, “Mo Betta.” Quelly would go on to release his debut EP, Unlawful, with standout tracks including the lead single and “Gun Showers.”
Quelly's name stands for “New Age Outlaws Quelly,” in representation of the collective, New Age Outlaws which Quelly is a member of with frequent collaborator, Hazeu$. In 2020, N.A.O Quelly released the songs, “Hair Down,” “Made It,” and “A Wonderful Feeling” to hold us over while we await the release of his debut album.
