iNTRO aka Desmond McAdoo is a rapper inspired by artists like Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Mick Jenkins, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Homeshake, Lucki, The Weeknd, and JMSN. Born in Nashville, TN, but currently based in Los Angeles, CA, iNTRO describes his sound as a culmination of his influences, creating an ambiguous sound that is ever-changing, ever-evolving, and provides different songs for people of different music tastes. This is evident on his 2021 album, Welcome To Next Year, which iNTRO describes as him “welcoming people to a slight glimpse of what’s to come from iNTRO. Ranging from my rock, soul, and R&B influences, I made it with the intention of the listener not being able to immediately say, ‘oh he sounds like this person, or this song sounds like this one.’” The project is highlighted by the opening track, “Welcome” which serves as an alternative, yet energetic opening, the hard-hitting, “Push It Back,” and the more chill, “Jump Out The Whip.”

Welcome To Next Year is preceded by The Lost Tapes (2020), Before the Lost Tapes - EP (2019), Play This at Night - EP (2019), and a handful of SoundCloud projects. The ascension of iNTRO is clear, seeing him span from making strictly underground rap music to the more dynamic, Welcome To Next Year. As for what’s to come, iNTRO is working on a collab project with fellow Nashville-LA transplant, Jordan Webb. He also has unreleased songs with Mike Floss, Demo, and Third Eye & Co labelmate, Chuck iNDigo.
