In 1999, Kevin Briggs produced “No Scrubs” for TLC. A few years later, he got his nephew, Deante’ Hitchcock into music around the age of 12. Since then, Atlanta rapper, Dirty D. Man aka Baby D, now known by his birth name, Deante' Hitchcock has been on a steady rise to the top. Hithcock started gaining attention in 2016, freestyling on social media. This helped him get in contact with Mark Pitts, CEO of ByStorm Entertainment and President of Urban Music at RCA Records, who would sign him in 2017. Also in 2016, Hitchcock released his debut mixtape, Good. In 2017, he released his label debut, So Much for Good Luck - EP which included a GoldLink feature on the song, “Wide Open.” Deante' returned in 2019 with Just a Sample 2, which featured Childish Major, Kilo Ali, and H.E.R., with standout track, “Side N***a Anthem.”

In 2019, Hitchcock focused on features, collabing with artists like Kelechi, Rebel Rae, and Jasmine Pollard. He was also one of the artists in attendance for Dreamville's Revenge of the Dreamers III sessions and would appear on “PTSD” featuring himself, Omen, Mereba, St. Beauty, and Masego. In 2020, at age 27, Deante' Hitchcock released his debut album, Better. The project included features from JID, Young Nudy, 6lack, Miguel, and St. Beauty. Hitchcock shines brightest on the project's final two tracks, “Growing Up/Mother God” and “Angels.”

In July, Hitchcock teamed up with fellow Atlanta rapper, Kenny Mason for “Give.” Later in the month, he teamed up with Guapdad 4000 for “Orgasm Full of Pain.” In October, he would receive features back from both rappers, on “How Does It Feel” and “Déjà Vu,” respectively for the deluxe version of his album. The deluxe would also have notable tracks like “Text Me” featuring Ro James and “Weighing Me Down” featuring Reason. Hitchcock says that his real dream is to one day own a pizza shop.
