Al-Doms

Al-Doms is the most recent unique hip-hop act out of the state of Virginia, a state which also blessed us with artists like Timbaland, Clipse, The Neptunes, and Missy Elliott. Though currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Al-Doms hails from the city of Norfolk and released his debut EP, New Day in 2019. The project is highlighted by the songs, “Pray,” “Break” featuring Mack, and “Slip,” which interpolates the classic song Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth song, “T.R.O.Y.” Al-Doms returned in March of 2021, releasing the project, NEW DREAM at the age of 26. The project begins with a nightmarish version of the nursery rhyme, “PATTY CAKE,” and continues on to depict his views of Norfolk, Virginia, and the United States, with a focus on racism and police brutality. Standouts from the project include “RAT RACE,” “JUST ANUTHA,” and “ICE CREAM.”

Al-Doms returned in May 2022 with the new single, “APPARENT” produced by Bijan Amir, known for his work with Offset, Lil Wayne, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. He followed this up with “HAHA” with Pusha T in June, and “MISS ME” in July. Hopefully, this will be the lead single of a 2022 new Al-Doms album.
